What Is Internal Plumbing?

Internal plumbing covers all the pipework and fixture installation inside a building — the systems you'll rely on every day but rarely see once the walls are finished. Done right, internal plumbing is invisible. Done poorly, it causes costly defects, failed inspections and ongoing problems for occupants. At DMB Plumbing Group, we split this work into two key stages:

Rough-in Stage

Rough-in is completed before walls and floors are closed in. This is the critical stage where hot and cold water lines, drain waste and vent (DWV) pipework, and shower/bath/toilet rough-ins are installed to the correct positions and to the correct falls. Errors at this stage are expensive to fix — which is why we review plans thoroughly before we mark out, and check every measurement twice.

Fit-off Stage

Fit-off is completed once tiling and wall finishes are done. We return to install and commission all fixtures, tapware, basins, toilets, showers, baths, sinks and hot water systems — aligned to your specifications or those provided by the project architect or interior designer.
